Imagine you are out and can feel chilled when you reach home, think the lift is already waiting for you, all the lights are ON when you enter your home, a garage door gets opened when you reach the parking zone.
This
is what Apple has in its mind, System
and method of determining location of wireless communication
devices/persons for controlling/adjusting operation of devices based
on the location envisions a system that would not require your
manual input to control remote devices, as most of today's home
automation systems do.
Your location would be tracked via your iPhone or other mobile device. The
home automation system then would respond accordingly. What
kind of stuff would your iPhone — er, wireless communication device
— control? "Lighting systems, security systems, garage-door
openers, music controllers, climate controllers, or kitchen
appliances," says the company. Built into the patent is a
predictive element, so your house lights might turn on if you're
walking the way you usually walk home.
As always, we can only
predict or expect to see the technology soon, but it doesn't mean
we'll see the technology pop up. In this case, your home would have
to be outfitted with the necessary equipment for all of this to work.
Take a possibility of Home Automation in future. :)
